About

The author of this blog will eat anything in a po-boy. poboy2She was raised on Maryland blue crabs, got bruleed out pastry chefing in Memphis, and ran a little farm near the banks of the great river of life that is Kentucky bourbon. Her work is now mainly helping nonprofits make their groceries and speak their piece. She’s still at a slow simmer on the higher ed back burner, but at least it’s in NoCal agrifoodie heaven. Her most persistent hobbies are reading, sewing, chicken watching, truck leaning, and shaking it on the dance floor/bathroom rug. She likes a man that can speed-shuck an oyster and slow-smoke a brisket. Dogs help her savor the sweetness and survive the sorrow. She wishes more people would keep it country and animals weren’t raised in CAFOs. She’s homesick for real bagels and belly lox, half-sour pickles, chocolate-top cookies, crab chips, lady peas, sweet tea, and especially Payne’s burnt ends.
